All Star Signs and Apparel started in 2011 as 3rd Degree Signs and Designs. The owner, Ian Oliver, began the business after he and his brother, James, became interested in the sign industry. When the purchase of a local sign business fell through, Ian decided to keep going with the sign business by buying his first vinyl cutter. He sold cut vinyl decals and custom memorabilia items from his home. While doing this, he earned a degree in Graphic Design from Pitt Community College. The business eventually grew to where it was doing so much business that a retail location had to be opened. In 2014, Ian opened his first retail location with the help of his father, Dan. After some success at the retail location, Ian decided it was time to stop outsourcing his apparel needs and bought a local screen printing company, All Star Screen Printing. Shortly after, James joined him again to help him build the company to where it is now. In 2016, the two companies merged to be All Star Signs and Apparel as it is today. All Star Signs and Apparel is a proud family-run, locally-owned business in the heart of the arts district of uptown Greenville.
